I've been having fun with icons. Not enough to make them on their own, but I like picking out a specific picture to go with a post.
Barbara Gordon has a history, the "I used to be Batgirl" thing plus survivors guilt from being shot, BUT with respect to the 20+ years of being Oracle... no one seems to know. I've been following a tumblr (dcwomenkickingass) that basically tracks down info on whats to come and they have no idea whether her history as Oracle will have any relevance whatsoever. Which I (and they) think means it won't. Also, the other batgirls seem to have been erased. One of them still exists, but her time as batgirl does (did?) not. If it makes you feel better though, other characters whose history has been wiped (to BG levels if not entirely)(that I know of): Flash, Superboy, Powergirl, one or two of the Green Lanterns, Static Shock, Blue beetle, possibly aquaman and a few others.
This Huntress is Helena Wayne, the daughter of Bruce and Catwoman.
It certainly feels WIP-y. (I hadn't thought of it like that, but it does fit with why you're not into comics) I've realized that for the most part, each story is about 6-8 issues long, and then it's usually (not always) easy to pick up in the next story as long as you know a thing or two about the characters (Marvel is particularly good at this as each issue has a handy summary page at the beginning so if you missed a story line or two it'll tell you if you need to even bother knowing that to be able to follow along, DC's tend to take the form of a summary paragraph hidden in the art of the title page if they have one at all) To a certain extent, the characters are more important than the story itself, and the point is just to put the characters in situations and see what they do. I don't know. I (as a contrast) am a WIP person to a certain extent, as long as the WIP gets finished, or at least continues.
